Ernest House, Jr. Featured in Discussion on Colorado Mountain College and Indigenous Homelands

To commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day last week, Colorado Mountain College (CMC) held a discussion featuring Keystone’s Ernest House, Jr. about the intersection of CMC and surrounding indigenous homelands. House was joined by CMC President Carrie Besnette Hauser and Steamboat Springs campus professor Patrick Staib for the discussion, which was titled Beyond Acknowledgements: Understanding CMC’s Land Heritage and Seeding the Future.

“Through that process, we all are recognizing that American Indian rights, American Indian movements, the efforts in the ’60s and definitely going on to the ’70s, we would not be here if Dr. King had not also elevated this conversation for Native Americans,” House said during the discussion.
