Julie Shapiro

Julie is a strategic leader with more than 20 years of experience bringing people and organizations together for resilient lands, waters, wildlife, and communities. Through cross-sector collaboration, interagency strategies, and stakeholder and public engagement, Julie helps build common ground, shared vision, and coordinated action. She catalyzes collaborative solutions among public, private, research, and nonprofit sector leaders at local, state, regional, and national scales. Her work has focused on forest health and wildfire, water quality and watershed health, conservation and recreation planning, wildlife management, agriculture sustainability, pollinator health, abandoned mine reclamation, applications of genomic innovations in human health and the environment, and more. She is adept at facilitating the integration of technical information and tools with stakeholder and community values. Julie holds a Masters of Science in environmental studies from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Bachelor of Arts in geosciences and English from Williams College.
