Jeff Lyng is Vice President, External Affairs and Policy and Chief Sustainability Officer at Xcel Energy. He is responsible for developing strategies and policies that advance the company’s Net-Zero Vision while maintaining affordability and reliability. Jeff currently serves on the Keystone Energy Board, the Energy Impact Partners Advisory Board, and is a past co-chair of Edison Electric Institute’s Environment Executive Advisory Committee. Before joining Xcel Energy, he served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Center for the New Energy Economy, Energy Policy Manager in Colorado Governor Bill Ritter’s Administration, and Director of Regulatory Affairs for Oracle Opower. He earned an undergraduate degree in ecology from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a graduate degree in building systems engineering from the University of Colorado.
