Keystone Partners with Ute Mountain Ute Tribe to Offer Pandemic Support

American Indian Tribes were already navigating stressed systems – from education to infrastructure to health care – that are now only exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ernest House, Jr., director of Keystone’s American Indian/Alaska Native Program, details the steps some tribes are taking to combat the pandemic. He explains why the government-to-government relationship between state and tribal leaders is critical, especially during times of emergency; and shares insight on the partnership Keystone has established with the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe to create a response effort that will support tribal members during this pandemic and beyond.
