Suzan has 20 years of experience in the environmental and natural resource field as a facilitator, mediator, and paralegal. As an affiliate of the Keystone Policy Center, Suzan helps people who hold varying and divergent perspectives engage collaboratively on pressing issues in the environment, energy, and health policy arenas by designing, facilitating, and managing multi-stakeholder dialogues, public engagement processes and structured conversations. Working out of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Suzan works with diverse stakeholder groups, including federal, state, local, and tribal agencies, a broad range of industry sectors, academia, the public, and association, NGO, and advocacy organizations. Recent project topics include Great Lakes restoration, pollinator habitat, climate science and resource management, landscape-scale conservation, supply-chain initiatives including sustainability in commodity crop production, characterizing “green products,” and tobacco farm labor practices.

Suzan holds a master’s degree from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University in Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in political science magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Keystone Policy Center in 2008, Suzan was a paralegal in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and in private practice. While living in the Washington, D.C., area, she volunteered over a 10-year period as a community mediator and facilitator with The Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County.
