CENTER FOR SCIENCE AND PUBLIC POLICY

Facilitation and Mediation

The Keystone Center’s mediators are among the most capable and experienced in public policy dispute resolution and consensus building.  Our staff have convened and facilitated important agreement-focused dialogues, helping government leaders bring stakeholders together to solve complex and controversial healthcare, energy and environmental problems.  We have facilitated national policymaking processes, statewide consensus-building efforts and local decision-making discussions.

The Keystone facilitators are the right facilitators for your work if you need:

  • A way to break deadlocks created by entrenched stakeholders with competing, diametrically opposed positions
  • Consultation with the public on an important public policy question before making a decision
  • Joint fact-finding among stakeholder representatives who disagree over questions of data collection and analysis
  • Creative solutions, supported by key stakeholders who could otherwise interfere with agency action
  • Shared, interagency decision making
  • Advice from constituents and affected members of the public
  • A venue for careful deliberation among advocacy groups, corporate leaders and government officials
