Policy Options for Prevention of Healthcare-Associated Infections

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) account for an estimated 99,000 deaths annually. In February 2011, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) engaged The Keystone Center to convene and facilitate a series of state-level stakeholder meetings that will focus on first on an analysis of current HAI prevention activities, working toward the generation of policy options for optimizing future prevention.
