Dialogue on Healthcare Reform Implementation in Delaware

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed comprehensive national health reform into law in the form of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The Delaware Public Policy Institute is convening a cross-sector, multilateral dialogue to consider the implications of this recent legislation for the State of Delaware. Keystone will design and facilitate deliberations amongst key stakeholders as they share views, suggest priorities, and identify promising strategies.

Action Plan for the Provision of Useful Prescription Medicine Information

The Keystone Center was asked by the Honorable Donna Shalala, then Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), to facilitate a mandated 120-day collaborative process to develop a long-range action plan for distributing useful information to individuals receiving new prescriptions. The Secretary accepted the plan developed by this multi-sector, cross-disciplinary participant group and set the new program into action.

Healthcare Reform National Policy Dialogue

The Keystone Center facilitated a series of meetings among a multi-stakeholder group of national organizations representing healthcare professionals, providers, insurers, advocates, business, and labor to develop consensus comprehensive reform proposals. The resulting recommendations were submitted to the new U.S. Administration and Congress in early 2009 and included proposals for increasing healthcare coverage and access, improving the quality of healthcare services, and decreasing the rate of growth in healthcare costs.

Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) Maternal and Child Health Strategy Meeting

The Keystone Center facilitated – and advised on the design and objectives for – a high-level meeting convened by ASTHO to identify priority areas of strategic work for the association’s Maternal and Child Health Project. Participants included senior state and federal health officials, representatives of professional medical societies and other partner organizations, and association leadership.
