Keystone Congratulates Louisiana on Implementing Teacher Preparation Reforms

KEYSTONE, CO, October 27, 2016 — The Keystone Policy Center congratulated the Louisiana Department of Education on its recent adoption of innovative regulations to strengthen teacher preparation. Keystone supported this valuable process through a statewide effort to gather and synthesize perspectives of university, district, and school leaders on how best to enhance teacher preparation through focus group and outreach sessions across Louisiana.

The effort, supported by a grant from the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Foundation, surveyed more than 200 teachers, district administrators and human resource officers, principals and assistant principals, and educator preparation faculty and staff.
