Overnight Backpacking Trip & Night Hike
Campers load their packs and head out into the forest for an evening under the stars. After dinner, campers take a night hike with KSS staff to learn about the adaptations of nocturnal animals. In the morning, each group prepares their own breakfast in the woods before embarking on their challenge hike.
Challenge Hike
Led by our experienced staff, campers set out on an all-day journey to a nearby alpine lake, majestic peak or high altitude destination. Campers are rewarded with amazing views and a huge sense of accomplishment once they reach their objective. (No technical climbing is involved.)
River Rafting
Each camper takes a whitewater rafting trip with other campers their age. Campers age 8 to 10 raft class I-II whitewater while campers age 11 and older raft class II-III whitewater of Brown’s Canyon of the Arkansas River. These whitewater adventures are led by a commercial guide company. They will splash and float in the water all day.
Hobby Swap and Recreation
During one afternoon of camp, all campers choose from a variety of arts and crafts activities as well as recreational activities. Whether it’s tie-dying T-shirts, painting murals, drawing, making bracelets or playing ultimate Frisbee, soccer or kickball, campers enjoy creative play time with their fellow campers.
Evening Activities
Evening programs combine the fun of camp with the excitement of showing your talents to playing educational games. Activities may include campfires, talent shows, and Camp Olympics.

Introduction to Discovery Camp-back by popular demand
This four day resident camp program is designed for children new to
the overnight camp experience. The length suits children ready for summer camp, but not a
long time away from home. Introduction to Discovery Camp is similar to Discovery Camp,
however it does not feature whitewater rafting or wilderness camping. New this year, we will
feature on-site camping.
