Cost: $15 per day (CEU’s available from the Colorado School of Mines for $35 per day)
Project Learning Tree is an award-winning environmental education program designed for teachers and other educators, parents, and community leaders working with youth from preschool through grade 12.
On January 16-17, 2010 Keystone Science School will host a Project Learning Tree Teacher Training. Participants can sign up for a single training session or the entire weekend. Each day has a specific focus, teaching you new ways to integrate environmental education into classroom curriculum. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive the award-winning PLT Environmental Education Activity Guide.

Through this workshop, you can:
• Become a Project Learning Tree certified educator
• Learn how to integrate environmental education while focusing on reading, technology, or differentiated instruction.
• Investigate local and global environmental topics with indoor and outdoor activities
• Receive PLT Teaching Guides

January 16
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Basic Project Learning Tree Workshop, PreK-8th
Experience and receive PLT modules: Exploring the Environment: Focus on Forests; and Forest Ecology-the Changing Forest, emphasis on current forest conditions. Participants are eligible to obtain other HS modules, and GreenWorks grants for service learning.
January 17
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Fire, Bugs, Climate Change: Forest Ecology!
Experience and receive PLT’s award winning science-based, interdisciplinary, standards-aligned activities with enhancements in technology, differentiated learning and literacy connections. Workshop will be tailored to meet the needs of participants. GreenWorks grants available for service learning.

Dates: Every Wednesday approximately 1 hour after sunset, November 2010 through April 2011.
Cost: Adults, $20; Kids (12 and under), $10.
Enjoy an evening with the stars! Using our acclaimed state-of-the-art observatory and astronomy lab, we'll take you on a mind-blowing tour of the Rocky Mountain skies. It's an experience that's truly out of this world!
