Schedule:
Thursday: Three-day campers arrive at 5pm. Soon after moving into their cabins, campers will enjoy a camp meal full of songs, skits, and, hopefully, zero food waste. Afterwards we’ll enjoy cider, popcorn, and s’mores during a high-energy campfire with the loudest camp songs and funniest skits. The howling will echo through all of Keystone! After some optional autumn astronomy and before going to bed, campers will catch our counselors up during our very special Candle Chat.
Friday: After an optional Sunrise Celebration, campers head to breakfast and then hit the trails for the hands-on educational experience KSS is known for providing. Campers will study Summit County's Mountain Pine Beetle and learn about the changing leaves. Upon returning to campus, campers will have some much needed feet-off-the-floor time followed by Camper Choice activities, all with a Halloween theme: play, carve pumpkins, create a haunted house, or dissect owl pellets!
At 5pm, we’ll welcome our two-day campers, then dress up in costumes and enjoy dinner with a spooky twist. After dinner, campers will participate in an educational evening program focusing on nocturnal nature and astronomy.
Saturday: Early birds can participate in an optional morning activity, while others sleep in until breakfast. After another great camp meal, campers will embark on a brisk challenge hike, targeting some of the most glorious autumn lookouts in the White River National Forest. Upon returning to camp, we’ll enjoy some down time followed by Camper Choice activities, where one of the options will be to decorate for that evening’s over-the-top Monster Mash Party. We’ll then dress up and attend a Halloween-themed dinner. Immediately after dinner campers will trick-or-treat at the various historic cabins on campus, learning fun stories as they go. We’ll all meet back at the dining hall for a Monster Mash Halloween Party featuring a camper-made haunted house, mad scientist lab, and lots of fun!
Sunday: Campers will rise, eat a final breakfast, and enjoy some free play. Our closing ceremony and slideshow will begin at 10am. All friends and family are invited!
